Stainless steel springs are widely used in the electronics field, especially in electronic devices that require precision and stability. They are often used in battery springs, contact springs and various connectors to provide reliable electrical contact and elastic support. Due to the corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance of stainless steel, this type of spring can maintain stable performance in various environments, ensuring the long-term reliability and safety of electronic products. Suitable for high-precision and small-size applications, ensuring efficient operation and stable connection of electronic equipment.
Features
High Corrosion Resistance: Stainless steel springs, particularly those made from Grade 304 or 316, exhibit excellent resistance to rust and oxidation. For example, Grade 316 offers a pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) of ≥25, making it suitable for harsh environments like marine or chemical industries.
Superior Tensile Strength: These springs typically have a tensile strength ranging from 700 to 1,900 MPa, depending on the alloy and heat treatment. For instance, precipitation-hardened 17-7 PH stainless steel achieves a tensile strength of up to 1,450 MPa after aging.
Temperature Stability: Stainless steel springs maintain functionality across a broad temperature range. AISI 302 can operate from -200°C to +290°C, while specialty alloys like Inconel extend this to 700°C.
Fatigue Life: With proper design, stainless steel springs can endure 105 to 107 cycles before failure. For example, a music wire spring with a shot-peened surface exhibits a 50% longer fatigue life compared to untreated counterparts.
Electrical Conductivity: While not as conductive as copper alloys, stainless steel springs still provide measurable conductivity. Type 302 has an electrical resistivity of approximately 72 μΩ·cm at 20°C.
Non-Magnetic Properties: Certain austenitic grades like 304 and 316 remain non-magnetic even after cold working, with a relative magnetic permeability (μr) of <1.02, crucial for sensitive electronic applications.
